Exciting Cha(nges)llenges

Studly has taken to becoming Destructo-Boy right before nap time. Normal babies act cranky before nap time, and that's fine, but it's the wanton destruction of everything in sight right before nap time or bedtime that challenges.

Here is about 20 feet of the aluminum foil:

It was quiet. Too quiet. And that's when I knew
that something was going on.

...and the metal cross bar for a the folding chair. He hulked that sucker off. I didn't notice until he started waving around his trophy.

Still not sure how he ripped that off.
Oh, and Studly sent a picture of this to his Aunt in AK
from Mr. Graff's phone. I thought Mr. Graff had sent it
before he left for work, but no. And it wasn't me.

Thankfully, Mr. Graff has been on the van pool to go to work for the last week, so for the first time, I've had the car! It's such a happy change for me during the day. And we get to see Judy the bus driver in the mornings and that's cool, too.

Because I have Attagirl (our car), Studly and I can go adventures. We load up and he loves riding in the car. Wind in his face, things to look at, life is grand.

Howdy, Ma'am!

Right good day for chewin', I reckon.

This week we went to the park that has a rubber playground, so Studly can crawl around on it!

Where's Raeford?
He loves to climb.
And hold sticks.
Baby overboard!
He looks lost in this one...
Seriously, having Attagirl has been an enormous blessing, and it could not have come at a more opportune time for me. Sometimes it feels isolating to be at home all day long. We've gotten to go out to the rubber coated playground, go the story time at the library (The moms there all go to Chik-fil-A afterwards, and we sit in a big group and talk and then let our toddlers play on the playground and talk some more. It's super nice to meet other moms and feel like a person.), and go to the gym.

My other exciting news is that I have a gym membership! Woohoo! It means that I have the option of up to two hours (I usually just stay for one hour) where somebody else will watch my baby for me while I take a little time to take of myself. Essential. Mommy. Survival.

We've also discovered that if we have quiet time in the evening, watching a movie, that he falls asleep SO MUCH EASIER. I guess he just needs time to wind down. Maybe not a movie every night, but quiet time all together sounds like a good idea.

Happy frog legs and lava-lava!

Exciting challenges and changes this week.

 Exit stage left.

at the Library

The library is one of my favorite places. We took a few pictures before going inside.

I love his bright, blue eyes.

Baby, you can drive my car!

Maple Syrup Festival

We went to the Maple Syrup Festival @Cunningham Falls State Park today. The weather was *gorgeous* and the crowds not horrifying.  We star...
